Nashua Boy Celebrated For Quick Action During Medical Emergency
Max Velez, 4, was feted during a "Heroes Among Us" program last night after he contacted paramedics after his grandmother stopped breathing.

NASHUA, NH — A local boy was honored by the Boston Celtics and the Massachusetts State Lottery last night for his heroic effort to save his grandmother’s life. Max Velez, 4, of Nashua, is proof that one is never too young to know about calling 911 in an emergency. He was with his grandmother one afternoon when she stopped breathing.
Max was as cool as a cucumber and called 911. During the call, he was able to describe his grandmother’s symptoms to a dispatcher who stayed on the line until paramedics arrived at the scene to help the woman. Max led the EMTs to his grandmother and she was saved, making a full recovery from the medical emergency.
The Boston Celtics honored Max at the May 6, 2019, playoff game against the Milwaukee Bucks, with his mom, Fallon Clarke.
