Nashua Catholic’s Jamie Vanderburgh Wins School’s GeoBee
Nashua Catholic 8th Grader Wins School GeoBee

Nashua Catholic eighth grader and Merrimack resident Jamie Vanderburgh walked away as winner of the Nashua Catholic Geography Bee in American History class this past month. All 7th and 8th grade Nashua Catholic students participated in the National Geographic GeoBee contest sponsored by National Geographic. The seven themed rounds of competition included topics such as social studies, earth and space science, the environment and culture.
The GeoBee is made up of three levels of competition: school, state and national. As Nashua Catholic’s School Champion, Vanderburg moves on to the online qualifying test to be taken by February 1st. From there, the top 100 ranked students in New Hampshire will qualify to represent their school in the state GeoBee to be held at Keene State University on March 29, 2019.
This annual competition is designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity of the world. Nearly 10,000 schools across the United States compete in the 2019 GeoBee for a chance to win college scholarships.
