Nashua Ends Coronavirus Mask, Face Covering Mandate

Mayor Jim Donchess signed the amended ordinance on Thursday — but health officials are suggesting unvaccinated people still wear masks.

NASHUA, NH — The city of Nashua has rescinded its mask and face covering mandate to protect from the spread of the coronavirus.

The board of alderman amended the ordinance on Tuesday and Mayor Jim Donchess signed it on Thursday.

The amended ordinance stated residents and visitors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are no longer required to wear a face covering while indoors or outdoors "unless required by that business, organization, or worksite in Nashua requires a mask." However, anyone who is unvaccinated is advised to continue to wear a mask — "for their own protection and that of others that are fully vaccinated or until appropriate health organization deems it safe to not wear a mask."
