Nashua Garden Club Sows Seeds of Holiday Cheer

Club Members Spread Cheer to Local Charities

Members of the Nashua Garden Club appreciated the region’s balmy December weather as they went out to extend holiday cheer. Keeping with the spirit of the club's mission to support the local community, the Garden Club provided donations to a number of local charities.

Grow Nashua was selected by club members as this year’s educational recipient. This organization, along with Nashua Soup Kitchen and Home Health and Hospice, each received a donation of $250. Unable to settle on one final recipient, members agreed to split the remaining funds between the Gate City Community Gardens and Corpus Christi Food Bank. “Giving to these worthy charities is a wonderful way for the club to give back to the community and I am grateful for the fact that we have the ability to do this,” stated Lois Scotto, President of the Nashua Garden Club.

During the rest of the year, the club sponsors educational programs on gardening and related topics, open to the public. Further information can be found at http://www.nashuagardenclub.com .
