Nashua Motorcycle Accident Critically Injures 56-Year-Old Man

NASHUA, NH — On July 7, 2020 at 8:09 p.m., Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and Nashua Police responded to the westbound lane of Amherst Street for a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Nashua police said two occupants of the motorcycle, a 56-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, were both down in the roadway. The male operator of the motorcycle was unresponsive when Nashua firefighters arrived and a trauma alert was activated at Southern NH Medical Center. A second AMR ambulance was requested for the female passenger of the motorcycle who was not as seriously injured.

A second vehicle, a small sedan, was involved in the accident and operated by a 53-year-old man who remained at the scene and was uninjured.

Witnesses said the motorcycle struck the rear of the sedan as it was stopped or slowing to prepare for a turn into a business parking lot. The sedan came to a stop in a small landscaped area.

Fire and EMS crews worked on both patients and were assisted by several bystanders who stopped at the scene. The right lane of the westbound lane Amherst Street remained closed for several hours.

Based on the severity of injury the Nashua Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit was notified. Additionally, members of the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division were assigned to assist in the investigation.
