Nashua Police Confirm Water Search Is Part Of Missing Woman Case
Nashua firefighters and police dive teams, and NH State Police K-9s are part of a search off Burke Street related to April Jean Bailey.
NASHUA, NH — Several divers from the Nashua Police Dive Team scoured a body of water at the end of Burke Street next to a parking lot of a large abandoned building.
On Tuesday, resources from multiple agencies gathered in the parking lot and coordinated searching the water, and the woody shoreline. Nashua Fire Rescue launched a rubber raft, and the Nashua Fire Dive Team was at the scene. Nashua police detectives with the NPD Dive Team had divers in the water for several hours. New Hampshire State Police had two K-9 teams at the scene. Nashua police also launched a drone in the area of the search.
NPD Lt. Patrick Hannon said Wednesday the water is one of several locations police plan to search as part of the disappearance of April Jean Bailey who was last seen Jan. 15, 2020. Hannon said, “This was on our list of places to check”

Police verified that nothing that could be related to the Bailey investigation was found. They are finished searching that area for now, but "that's not to say we won't be out there again," Hannon said.
The site that was searched is in the proximity of Lynn Street, the residence where Bailey was last seen.

The FBI joined the investigation in the past few months. The agencies have labeled Bailey's disappearance as suspicious. She was wearing slippers, black sweatpants and a large, black jacket with a hood that had fur around it, police and the FBI said in March. Bailey is described as a white female, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, and about 130 pounds. She has long black hair and blue eyes.
She also has a butterfly tattoo on her right shoulder, and another tattoo on her right ankle that reads "Damien.”
