Nashua Police: Man Arrested for Mischief, Drug Charges

A Newport man is facing several charges after allegedly giving a causing criminal mischief, giving a juvenile cocaine and running from cops.

NASHUA, N.H. - A Newport man is facing several charges after allegedly giving a causing criminal mischief, giving a juvenile cocaine and leading police on a foot chase.

According to Nashua Police, officers were called downtown on Monday morning around 6:30 a.m. for a report of criminal mischief.

Police said arriving officers found three individuals, one of which, John Gervais, age 18,of 43 Whipple Road, Newport, New Hampshire, had paint on his hands.

After speaking with police, Gervais fled but police caught up to him shortly afterwards. Police said during an investigation it was learned that Gervais allegedly gave cocaine to a juvenile.

He was charged on two counts of Criminal Mischief, two counts Resisting Arrest/Detention, and Possession of Cocaine.

Gervais was held on $5,000 cash bail pending his arraignment on May 21.
