Nashua Police: Man Arrested for Threatening Woman With Knife

Nashua Police arrested a Nashua man on Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her with a knife.

NASHUA, NH - Nashua Police arrested a Nashua man on Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her with a knife.

According to Nashua Police, the Nashua Police Department’s Uniformed Field Operations Bureau arrested Alex Ortiz, 25, of Nashua on a warrant for Domestic Violence; Criminal Threatening - Deadly Weapon, a Class B Felony.

The charges stem from an Apr. 24 incident in which a female victim told police that Ortiz had twice threatened her with a knife the previous night. The victim also reported that she had been assaulted
by Ortiz and was afraid to leave her residence.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division were notified and furthered the investigation later that day when they applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Ortiz.

Based on the investigation, Ortiz was also charged with an additional count of Domestic Violence; Criminal
Threatening - Deadly Weapon, Class B Felony, one count of Criminal Restraint, Class B Felony, one count of Domestic Violence; Simple Assault, Class A Misdemeanor Each Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years in Prison, exclusive of fines.

Ortiz refused bail and will be held at Valley Street Jail pending his arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Apr. 26.
