Nashua Skier Takes 9th Place at Division I Championships

Carolyn Marquis qualified for the Alpine Meet of Champions but was disqualified after missing a gate.

Submitted by the Nashua School District:

Congratulations to Carolyn Marquis, North Class of 2015, for placing ninth in giant slalom at the NHIAA Division I Championships at Sunapee Mountain in Newbury.

Because she placed in the top 10 in the Giant Slalom, Carolyn earned a berth to compete at the Alpine Meet of Champions on March 5, 2014 at Cannon Mountain in Franconia. Carolyn turned in two great runs to finish 31st out of 54 skiers but unfortunately she missed a gate during her second run and was disqualified.

Carolyn was the only skier from Nashua to qualify for the Alpine Meet of Champions. Again, congratulations Carolyn!

Overall, the North Ski Team finished fourth among the teams competing in the NHIAA (New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association) Division I Alpine Ski Championships.
