Nashua Teen Charged with Assaulting Girlfriend at SNHU

Matthew Deitrich is charged with simple assault and false imprisonment.

A Nashua teen was arrested Monday for assaulting his girlfriend in her dorm room at Southern New Hampshire University in Goffstown.

Goffstown Police responded to SNHU at 11:43 p.m. Monday for a report of a domestic assault. Matthew Deitrich, 19, of Nashua was placed under arrest for domestic violence related simple assault and false imprisonment.

After speaking with both parties, police found that Deitrich was arguing with his girlfriend in her dorm room. She tried to leave the room but was unable to because Deitrich was blocking the door. Deitrich then pushed her, causing her to fall on the side of her bed, striking the bed posts.

Deitrich was released on $2,500.00 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear before the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett on April 23.
