NH’s Largest Utility Company Wins Business Of The Year Award
Eversource receives the Business NH Magazine leadership honor for 2019 for nonprofit volunteerism, fundraising, and other initiatives.

MANCHESTER, NH — The state’s largest electric utility company has won a coveted business achievement award for its work with nonprofits and other initiatives. Eversource Energy was named the Business NH Magazine’s 2019 New Hampshire Business Leader of the Year. The award was given to the company not only because of its work in the state but due to the volunteer hours and money donated by its employees.
According to the company, more than 650 employees donated nearly 2,400 hours of volunteer service to local nonprofits and programs last year. Employees were also the largest contributor to the annual Granite United Way program for the fifth year in a row, donating more than $367,000. The company’s annual Walk and 5K Run for Easterseals also assists thousands of people in the Granite State. Many employees are also active volunteering for the Special Olympics.
“All of the credit for this distinguished honor goes to our dedicated and passionate employees who go above and beyond every day to serve our customers, as well all of our community partners who we have the privilege of working with across the state,” noted Eversource NH President Bill Quinlan. “Whether it’s our lineworkers restoring power in fierce weather conditions, our representatives in the contact center providing reassurance and information, or our engineers planning for the integration of emerging clean energy technologies like battery storage, our employees are always there when our customers need us most. Thanks to the dedication of each member of our team, we are making great strides in reliability, innovating a clean energy future in the Granite State and making a meaningful difference in our communities by serving hundreds of non-profits throughout the state.”
