Suspect Nabbed In Beating, Robbery Of Store Clerk

On November 15, 2013 at 4:50 p.m., the Derry Police Department located and arrested Michael Warner, 21, of Nashua on a Nashua Police Department warrant for Robbery, a Class A Felony. Warner was later transferred to the custody of the Nashua Police Department.

On November 14, 2013 at approximately 12:06 p.m., members of the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division responded to Lake Street Convenience at 49 Lake Street for the report of an armed robbery. The clerk was struck, several times in the head with a tire iron by a male suspect who took an undisclosed amount of money from the register. The clerk sustained lacerations to his head which required medical attention. The clerk was transported to a city hospital where he received several staples to close his wounds and was discharged later that afternoon. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Members of the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation and developed Warner as a suspect. Shortly after the robbery, the tire iron was located a short distance from the scene in a trash barrel. An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained charging Warner with Robbery, Class A Felony. In addition to the Robbery charge, Warner is charged with First Degree Assault, Class A Felony and Falsifying Physical Evidence, Class B Felony.

Each Class A Felony is punishable by up to fifteen years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Warner is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $100,000.00 cash bail pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Court Nashua District Division on November 18, 2013.
