Trees, Debris Clog Nashua Roads After Wild Night Of Weather
Nashua Department of Public Works urge caution driving Thursday as they work to clear nearly a dozen intersections from storm damage.
NASHUA, NH — Nashua Department of Public Works personnel are working to clear intersections and reopen lanes of traffic throughout the city after a wild night of wind and rainy weather. Nashua DPW cited 10 locations in the city that drivers should avoid Thursday morning due to down tree limbs and branches.
"There are trees and tree limbs down all over Nashua," Nashua DPW posted on its Facebook page. "Most roads with limbs/trees down are passable — please try to avoid the following areas if possible this morning."
Among the areas affected in Nashua Thursday are: Summer Street between Granite and Norton Streets; Manchester Street near Watson Street; Intersection of Columbia and Westminster; Intersection of Fifield and Allds; Intersection of Gilson and Main Dunstable; Intersection of Courtland and Berkeley; Chestnut Street; and Pemberton Road near the Belfast Street intersection.”

Nashua DPW also said one lane is closed at the East Dunstable and Constantine intersection where police are on the scene helping to direct traffic.
New Hampshire State Police are also urging caution and patience on Thursday with roads as drivers can come up on debris on roads and highways unexpectedly.

Eversource reported late Thursday morning that crews continue work to restore power to customers from the storm that brought trees and wires down, particularly in the southern, western and eastern parts of the state. Eversource said it has more than 400 line, tree and service workers repairing damage as quickly and safely as possible.
Eversource said it restored power to more than 52,000 of its customers since the storm started around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, including more than 28,000 customers Eversource's remote system operators restored in less than five minutes. As of 11 a.m. Thursday, Eversource said about 24,000 customers in New Hampshire remained without power.
