Unreasonable Speed Major Factor In Rollover On Nashua Exit 7E

The on and off-ramps were closed for 5 hours while crews worked to remove the loaded concrete truck from the ramp

NAHSUA, NH - On Tuesday September 1st,2020 , at approximately 0802 am, Troopers from New Hampshire State Police Troop B, and Troop G, Nashua Fire Rescue, and AMR responded to a rollover crash involving a concrete truck on the Exit 7E south bound ramp from the Everett Turnpike in Nashua. Dispatch advised that the concrete truck was on its side, in the grass median.

The concrete truck was traveling on the exit 7E ramp from the Everett Turnpike south bound when control was lost. The concrete truck rolled on its side and slid into the grass median.

The operator of the concrete truck, identified as : James Thomas, 32 of Meredith, NH. The driver not injured from the accident.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was traveling at an unreasonable speed for the curve of the ramp and the weight of the load being carried by the concrete truck. This was the major contributing factor in this crash.

As a result of the collision and subsequent investigation, the exit 7E south bound on and off ramps were shut down for approximately 5 hours while the concrete truck was safely removed. Troop B Troopers were assisted at the scene by the State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit (Troop G), the Nashua Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
