Girl Fighting Rare Disease Honored By Windham Softball Team
A second grader battling a rare skin disease was honored by Windham High School girls' softball team with a guest spot on the team.
WINDHAM, N.H. - A second grader battling a rare skin disease was honored by Windham High School girls’ softball team with a guest spot on the team. According to WMUR, Melina Spinazola, 8, who suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa, or E.B., and her sister were honorary bat girls at the WHS game on Friday.
“I had tons of butterflies in my stomach, but up top I was like, ‘I can do this. This is going to be so much fun,’” Melina told WMUR.
“I’m very happy for Melina and it’s been a great time and it’s really awesome this team put this together for her,” her sister Shayla said.

The Spinazola family is on a mission to raise awareness and money for researchers working on a cure for E.B.
“I knew we had great girls in this town and great kids in this town, but to see how much they put of their hearts into it really means a lot to us,” Melina’s mother Kerri said.
