Windham Fire Responds To Wall Collapse At Construction Site Call
Two men were injured on Chestnut Road when the wall of a house under construction partially collapsed causing serious injuries.
WINDHAM, NH — Windham Fire responded to Chestnut Road Monday where two construction workers were injured from a partial wall collapse on a construction site.
Windham Fire Chief McPherson and Windham Medic 1 arrived first on the scene around 10:30 a.m. McPherson said a single-family home under construction had a partial wall collapse on the second floor. Two people injured.
"Due to the complexity of the call and how the patients were to be extricated, a staffing recall was requested along with a request for an additional Engine from Derry and a request for a Ladder Truck," he said.

EMS Personnel evaluated the patients, a request was made for Air Medical bringing in DHART. Based on the condition of one of the patients, a landing zone was set up at the Nashua Road ballfields to expedite transport of one of the victims.
"Due to the lack of interior stairs, firefighters had to remove patients using a Ladder Truck and a Stokes Basket," McPherson said. "The first patient was a 65-year-old male. He received abdominal, facial, and shoulder injuries."

The victim was transported to the landing zone and eventually transported to Beth Israel in Boston, Massachusetts. The second patient, a 35-year-old male with lower back pain, pelvic pain, and right femur pain was transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
The accident is under investigation.
