Windham Official Accused Of Accessing Private Driver Information

CONCORD, NH — Windham's deputy town clerk was arrested Thursday accused of accessing the private information of drivers for personal purposes, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Nancy Hogle, 61, of Windham was arrested Thursday on two counts of violating the NH Driver Privacy Act. According to Lt. Andrew Player of Troop G, only certain people and entities can access driving records and can only access the records for purposes permitted by law.

"An investigation conducted by the New Hampshire State Police-Troop G Investigations Unit revealed that Hogle accessed and used protected information in an unauthorized fashion — specifically for personal use and without legitimate business reasons," Player said. "The investigation revealed that Hogle used her ability to access motor vehicle records to obtain residential addresses of individuals known to her for personal use."

The charges are misdemeanors and subject to a $1,200 fine per violation.

Hogle was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail. She's due back in Salem District Court on Dec. 10 for an arraignment.

Player said Troop G investigators are assigned to the Division of Motor Vehicles and receive "specialized training" to detect "fraud as well as fraudulent documentation and are often called upon for their expertise in this area."
