New Jersey Gas Prices Fall For 6th Straight Week

Analysts say gas prices will likely keep dropping as demand continues to fall.

TRENTON, NJ — For the sixth consecutive week, filling up at the pump in New Jersey was slightly less expensive compared to the previous week, AAA Mid-Atlantic said. Drivers paid on average $2.45 per gallon for regular gas Friday, 3 cents cheaper than the previous week.

Drivers paid $2.03 for gas in the Garden State at this time last year, but that was before a 23-cents-per-gallon gas tax increase went into effect last November.

The national average gas price Friday was $2.46, down 2 cents from last week. That's higher than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.23.
