2 Brothers From Asbury Were Victims Of Coronavirus One Week Apart

The two were victims of the coronavirus, and they died just one week apart.

ASBURY PARK – Two brothers from Asbury Park fought the coronavirus, and they both succumbed to the disease just one week apart.

James "Cricket" Traverso and Dennis A. Traverso both died after suffering from the coronavirus, according to the Buckley Funeral Home.

James, 73, of Neptune passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center on April 10. Dennis, 79, passed away at home with his two daughters and brother at his side on April 4, according to Buckley.

Their relatives told The Asbury Park Press they believe James contracted the virus because he insisted on being by Dennis’ side during his final days. “They did everything together. Everything," Denise Traverso, one of Dennis’ daughters, told The Press.

James was an expert model train enthusiast as well as a master car craftsman. He is survived by his nieces, Denise Traverso and Margaret Bruemmer. He had one daughter, Traci Traverso, and one grandson.

Dennis was a renowned historian and specialist in early antique glass. He was also an expert dealer in primitive collectibles, according to Buckley.

Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Denise Traverso and Margaret Bruemmer, and his brother, James Traverso, as well as six grand children and one great grandchild, accoridng to Buckley.
