Asbury Council To Look At Four Ordinances At Council Meeting
The ordinances include the possible banning of smoking on the boardwalk and the establishment of loading zones on Main Street.

ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Park City Council will be introducing two ordinances while holding a public hearing on two others at Wednesday night’s council meeting.
The first ordinance being introduced is a change to include banning all smoking on the boardwalk, including vaping and cannabis. In contrast, the other ordinance establishes what constitutes an abandoned car.
There are two ordinances up for public hearing and potential adoption during Wednesday night’s meeting. The first one is for the establishment of two loading zones on Main Street, one on the east side Beginning at a point 19 feet north from the north curb line of Lake Avenue extending 50 feet north and one on the west side from the southerly curbline of Sewall Avenue extending 50 feet south.

The other ordinance up for adoption would prohibit all parking on the northbound side of Asbury Avenue, starting 109 feet from the east curb line of Main Street, continuing 100 feet east, and between Memorial Drive and Route 71 on the southbound side. Parking would also be prohibited on Springwood Avenue between Memorial Drive and Route 71.
