ASBURY PARK—The city of Asbury Park announced on Monday that parking on a portion of Main Street would be closed to parking because of road work this week to complete the NJDOT Route 71/Main Street project.

In a statement on the city’s website, due to the milling and final paving, parking will be prohibited on Main Street between First Avenue and the Neptune border from April 26 through April 30 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Parking will also be prohibited on the first 250 feet of the 700 and 800 blocks of Asbury Avenue, Sewall Avenue, Monroe Avenue, Summerfield Avenue, Bangs Avenue, Mattison Avenue, Cookman Avenue, and Springwood/Lake Avenues coming off of Main Street.

The Asbury Park Police Department has posted “no parking” signs posted by the Police Department in these areas, and any vehicles left in these areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.
