Asbury Park Welcomes Indoor Dining
The city is hoping for relief now that indoor dining will be allowed this week.

ASBURY PARK – Asbury Park is welcoming Gov. Phil Murphy's decision to reopen indoor dining, and officials hope it will bring relief to the city's dining community amid the coronavirus crisis.
"We are happy about it and hoping it provides some much needed relief for our restaurants," Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn said.

Earlier in the summer, Asbury Park reversed its plan to reopen its indoor dining and defy state coronavirus rules after Murphy got a court order to stop the city.

Asbury Park has taken steps to expand outdoor dining through Labor Day, including the closure of Cookman Avenue from Emory Street to Bangs Avenue to through traffic and parking seven days a week.
The move allows for the expansion of dining and retail through Labor Day and beyond, extending through Sunday, September 13.
In these pedestrian areas:
- No skateboards, scooters or bike riding permitted. Please walk your bikes (bike racks are located on Cookman Avenue at Main Street; please remember to lock your bikes).
- Social distancing and face coverings/masks are required.
- Face coverings/masks are required if patrons are away from their table outdoors or entering the indoor premises to pick up take-out or use the restroom.
- Patrons may not congregate in dining areas or in the pedestrian walkways to wait for tables.
- All outdoor activities on the street must end by 10pm. Food and beverage service can continue on the sidewalk areas next to restaurants in accordance with liquor license approvals by the NJ ABC.
