Asbury Police Reroute Traffic For Big Football Rivalry Match
Because of the increased traffic expected for the annual and classic match between Asbury Park and Neptune, some rerouting is necessary

ASBURY PARK, NJ - Police are asking residents and visitors to the city on Thanksgiving Day to take note of the temporary traffic changes being made because Asbury Park High School and its Bishops varsity football team is host to this year's annual Turkey Day rivalry football game against Neptune's Scarlet Fliers. Because of the popularity of the contest, traffic is expected to increase, according to an announcement posted on the police Facebook page. The increase will be seen in both pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic, police said. Because of that, the following streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Sixth Avenue from Memorial Drive to Drury Lane to Sunset Avenue and Comstock Street north from Sunset Avenue. Parking will be prohibited on either side of those streets during the same period of time. Signs will be posted and police are asking everyone to be cautious in the affected areas.
