Asbury Urban Renewal Offering Job Opportunities

Asbury Urban Renewal will be offering several opportunities for those qualified in multi-family construction practices.

ASBURY PARK – The City Council has announced K. Hovnanian Cove at Asbury Urban Renewal, LLC, a designated Subsequent Developer by Asbury Park, will be offering several opportunities for those qualified in multi-family construction practices.

“City Council knows the importance of giving employment opportunities in construction and development to Asbury Park residents first. We want to thank K. Hovnanian for partnering with us and creating these jobs and scholarships,” said Mayor John Moor. “Workforce development is crucial for a healthy community and we've asked our administration to make it a priority for this year.”

The construction industry opportunities associated with their development, The Cove, a 48 townhouse development located at Cookman Avenue, Heck Street and Asbury Avenue will include:

  • Subcontractor opportunities including landscaping, paving, plumbers, electricians, framers, painters, roofing/siding/windows, flooring, drywall, and cleaning.
  • One (1) mentorship for a small contracting business to gain experience in large scale construction.
  • Two (2) apprenticeships in the construction field working directly with the builder or select trade partners.
  • Two (2) paid internships in the construction management field working directly with the builder or select trade partners.

In addition, those who have successfully completed the internships or apprenticeships with K. Hovnanian Cove at Asbury Urban Renewal, LLC will be eligible for four (4) scholarships to be used at the discretion of the recipient for vocational training or academic education in the field of real estate development or construction management.
