Authorities: Death of Badly Burned Man in Neptune Not Suspicious

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said the death of a man whose body was found in Neptune does not seem suspicious.

NEPTUNE, NJ - The charred body of a 65-year-old man found in Neptune Township Thursday evening does not appear suspicious, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor ChristopherJ. Gramiccioni.

Additional post-mortem examination and toxicological screenings of the deceased remain pending, the prosecutor said in a release.

The unidentified man was discovered after a 911 call to Neptune Township Police. The body was found in a wooded area off Neptune Boulevard often frequented by members of the homeless community, authorities said.

The death remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Fire Marshal and Neptune Township Police Department. There is no apparent threat to the public, authorities said.
