Colts Neck Seeks Donations For "Little Soldiers' Toy Drive
Colts Neck is seeking donations for its "Little Soldiers' toy drive which benefits those children whose parents are military deployed.

COLTS NECK, NJ - The residents of the township are being asked to take on a big job to help ease the minds of soldiers who also are parents who will miss Christmas Day with their own children while they are keeping other children safe. Since its inception, the Little Soldiers Program has provided gifts for the children of deployed soldiers who are residents of New Jersey. Because of the large numbers of New Jersey military personnel currently deployed overseas, a special gift could help bring a smile to the “little soldiers” who are left behind, according to an announcement on the township website. Gifts may be a poor substitute for not having mommy or daddy home during the holiday season but a gift may serve as a reminder that neither child nor parent is forgotten. organizers say.
Children of military personnel already have made a wish, placed it on a star, and that star is now displayed in Town Hall. Residents and others who wish to participate may stop by and choose which star and thus which wish will be granted. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to Town Hall with the wish star attached by Dec. 11.
