Little Silver Firefighters Transport Santa, Holiday Cheer

Little Silver firefighters annual Christmas Eve tradition returns with Santa spreading holiday cheer and donated food for the needy.

LITTLE SILVER, NJ - The Little Silver Volunteer Fire Department plans on transporting Santa door-to-door this Christmas Eve and needs to know which children are on the "nice list." Firefighters will take Santa to borough homes in order to deliver personalized gifts, pose for photographs with the happy recipients and hand out candy canes. But with the event growing in popularity - spreading the holiday spirit to nearly 250 homes last Christmas Eve - participants this year will be able to choose from two session preferences. The only fee to participate is a small donation of non-perishable food, which will be distributed to local food pantries the morning of Christmas Eve. The deadline for registering is Dec. 22. But Santa and his helpers need to prepare early, so visit www.littlesilverfd.org as soon as you can to learn more and sign up if you would rather not have to climb on the roof yourself and have to call the firefighters for another reason.
