O Christmas tree: Little Silver Volunteer Firefighters return to tradition of raising funds by selling holiday trees beginning Friday.

LITTLE SILVER, NJ - Another post-Thanksgiving tradition, particularly in families with young children, is shopping and setting up the annual Christmas tree, often on the so-called shopping holiday known as Black Friday. Here, Little Silver volunteer firefighters are readying their annual effort to raise funds by selling Christmas trees, this year Douglas and Fraser firs from Pennsylvania and North Carolina in heights ranging from 2 feet to more than 13 feet. The firefighters also will be offering other holiday decorations from handmade snowmen, reindeer, wreaths, grave blankets, wooden gift sets and others.

As a gift to us all, the highly anticipated alpacas will be returning for weekend visiting. Money raised will be used to support the volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians. Sales begin Friday and the lot will be open weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
