Long-Time Asbury Park Police Officer Passes Away

A long-time police officer has passed away.

ASBURY PARK – A long-time police officer has passed away.

Capt. Michael Ham, who was retired, has passed away and services have been announced.

Ham honorably served with the Asbury Park Police Department for 30 years. Ham started in 1977, was promoted to sergeant in 1994, to lieutenant in 1998 and to captain in 2002.

He retired in 2007.

Ham was known as a devoted officer, family man and a true gentleman, police said.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21, at 3 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 141 Court Street, in Freehold.
