NEPTUNE, NJ - Mary’s Place by the Sea is touting the launch of its first-ever fund-raising recipe book In the Kitchen with Mary’s Place by the Sea. Mary’s Place by the Sea is a respite home for women with cancer which offers holistic services to its guests to support their medical treatment and aid their healing.
Nutrition plays a major part in the philosophy of Mary’s Place by the Sea, they said in a release about the book. The founders believe that the human body can do its best performance when fueled with the best nutrients.
“At Mary’s Place by the Sea, we whole-heartedly believe in preparing meals for our guests that provide the nourishment they need to fight their disease," said Michele Gannon, president and co-founder, in the release. "Food plays a key role in nourishing our guests: mind, body and soul. This recipe book will be an opportunity for our guests and supporters to experience our healthy, delicious dishes in their own home."
Maria McKeon, vice president and co-founder, describes the meal-planning process.
“Our guests enjoy plant-based breakfast and lunch here at Mary’s Place," she said. "Our in-house chef, Cathy Russo, puts love into every pinch and dash. We are thrilled to share the recipes that she uses to nourish our guests."
The plant-based recipe book includes more than 75 pages of healthy, nutritious recipes and colorful photographs of dishes made in-house at Mary’s Place, the co-founders maintain.
“These recipes will surprise you," Russo said. "Many people are skeptical of vegan dishes but this book will prove to you that healthy and nutritious can in fact be delicious."
These books are a fund-raising initiative for the non-profit organization, which provides all services to guests free of charge. In the Kitchen with Mary’s Place by the Sea can be purchased on the Mary’s Place by the Sea website, www.marysplacebythesea.org. Books are $30.
