Ocean Township Man Arrested In Connection With Stabbing
An Ocean Township man, Luis Plaza is charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of his girlfriend.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police were called to the scene of Jersey Shore University Medical Center late Tuesday after a woman with multiple stab wounds to her abdomen responded for treatment.
Detective Gregory Martone and Officer Glennis Polanco responded to the hospital to speak with the victim but the victim could provide only limited including the fact that the stabbing occurred during a robbery attempt in front of a township liquor store, police said.
The victim, who later underwent surgery for her wounds, is in stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Further investigation by detectives revealed that the alleged report of the robbery attempt was false and that the boyfriend of the victim, later identified as 34-year-old Luis Plaza, stabbed her during a verbal altercation at their apartment in the Twinbrook Village apartment complex on that same night.
Plaza then attempted to attend to her wounds and ultimately drove her to the hospital without notification to the police or emergency responders.
Plaza was arrested on Dec. 28 without incident and transported to the station for processing. He was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Plaza was transported to the Monmouth County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
