STEAMpark Inc Raises Funds at Stumpy's Hatchet House
Supporters of the local organization, which offers education-based after school programs, hit a bullseye with their charity throwdown
It was an ax-ellent evening for supporters of STEAMpark, Inc, as they gathered at Stumpy’s Hatchet House in Eatontown on October 24 for the second annual Throwdown For Charity: Oktoberfest. The Monmouth County-based nonprofit provides afterschool and summer educational, emotional, and wellness support to children in Asbury Park, Keansburg and Neptune townships.
More than 70 guests honed their hatchet-hurling skills and enjoyed delicious food donated by Local Smoke BBQ (Red Bank), as they took over Stumpy’s entire playing field, which the owners kindly contributed in support of STEAMpark. The generous Event Sponsor was Comport Consulting Corporation (Ramsey), Pit Sponsors were Two River Title Company, Cohen-Howard LLC, Leigh and Cary Dym and Soul Focus while Targeted Talent, the Cullen Disque Family Foundation, Kelly Zaccaro of Heritage House Sotheby’s International Realty and the Vin Gopal Civic Association were the night’s Bullseye Sponsors.
All proceeds will support academically stimulating programs – including a weekly STEMgirls Workshop at the Neptune Library, upcoming after school computer programming classes for elementary school-aged children in underserved areas of Monmouth County, and the annual NJ Makers Day – that all incorporate key principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) run by STEAMpark, INC, a 501(c)(3).
