A thunderstorm wreaked havoc on a Stone Pony show this weekend in Asbury Park.

The Stone Pony said the "Slightly Stoopid" concert originally scheduled for Saturday was cancelled because of the sudden and severe weather conditions.

The Summer Stage structure, along with all rigging and equipment, was highly engineered for safety and regularly inspected, and was not damaged, according to the iconic club and concert hall.

But given the nature of this fast-moving storm, and for the safety of fans, artists and crew, all concert-goers were evacuated, the club said. Fans were evacuated before the storm’s arrival and there were no injuries.

After the evacuation and during the worst of the storm, several freestanding speakers and one small bar were overturned, the club said.
