Tired of Exhaust Fumes In Red Bank Traffic? Try The Horse
Some Red Bank merchants are offering an alternative to being stuck in a car all day: free horse carriage rides Saturdays through Dec. 23

RED BANK, NJ - It is not so uncommon to see a lot of horse and wagon opportunities around Halloween, usually of the haunted variety, but a group of Red Bank merchants have hijacked the winter holidays for special four-footed excursions where the only ghost you are likely to see is Christmas Past and his or her buddies. This year, merchants are offering horse and wagon rides free for all ages beginning this Saturday and running each Saturday until Dec. 23. If you are dog tired but still want to experience the sights and sounds of Red Bank's holiday in the business district, a classic horse and wagon ride may be a good alternative and you can experience that alternative every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The rides are sponsored by Pauline Poyner of Heritage House Sotheby's International Realty and Delta Dental.
Participants can board at 11 Bridge St., which is near Danny's Steak House or at 26 Broad St., near Robinson Ale House. And for those shoppers who choose to hoof around the area on foot, watch where you step if the horses are ahead of you.
