Two Asbury Schools Placed On Lockdown
The schools were placed on a precautionary lockdown after an anonymous tip regarding disturbing social media posts was sent to authorities.

ASBURY PARK, NJ – Asbury Park High School and Thurgood Marshall Elementary School were placed under a precautionary lockdown on Tuesday morning.
According to Sgt. Michael Casey of the Asbury Park Police Department, an anonymous source tipped off authorities to disturbing social media posts made by an employee of the school district.
“As a precautionary measure, since this person is employed with the Asbury Park schools, we opted to close down the schools,” Sgt. Casey said to Patch, adding that the posts “had nothing specific toward Asbury Park schools.”
