$5K Reward Offered To Catch Driver In Fatal Nutley Hit-And-Run
Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward to help capture a hit-and-run driver who killed a 75-year-old woman in Nutley.
NUTLEY, NJ — A $5,000 reward is being offered to help capture a hit-and-run driver who killed a 75-year-old woman in Nutley last year, authorities announced Thursday.
Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and the conviction of the driver who fatally struck 75-year-old Roseann Ratz of Lyndhurst, authorities said.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a car struck Ratz as she and a female friend were crossing the street in the area of Washington Avenue and Rutgers Place in Nutley on Oct. 15, 2020.

The car then fled the scene, authorities said.
Ratz was transported to St. Joseph’s University Hospital in Newark, where she was pronounced dead at 7:58 p.m. the following day.

As of Thursday, no arrests have been made in the “active and ongoing investigation,” prosecutors said.
