8 Candidates File For 2020 Belleville School Board Election

Here are the candidates who filed to run for the Belleville Board of Education.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A total of eight candidates filed to run for the Belleville Board of Education in the Nov. 3 general election, which will be held mostly by mail due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Those who filed include:

  • Erika Jacho – Building Belleville’s Future
  • Fernando Acevedo Jr. – Building Belleville’s Future
  • Lissa Missaggia – Excellence In Education
  • Frank Velez III – Moving Forward Together
  • Yael Cavero-Isakowitz – Moving Forward Together
  • Juan Lisojo – No slogan
  • Jacqueline Guaman – No slogan
  • Michael Sheldon - No slogan

The filing deadline for candidates in Essex County was July 27.

As of July 2018, school board candidates have been permitted to circulate petitions jointly and be bracketed together on the ballot with one or two other candidates. Candidates can submit a short, “non-political slogan” up to three words.
