Belleville COVID Cases Rise 5% In 1 Week; Nutley Sees 6% Jump
COVID-19 case totals keep climbing in Nutley and Belleville. See the latest totals here.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Belleville and Nutley's coronavirus case counts continue to rise, according to statistics released Friday.
Essex County released its latest case and death totals on Jan. 15, including data for Belleville and Nutley. The county noted that its daily report may not match state or municipal totals (here's why).
Belleville has seen 3,505 cumulative COVID-19 cases, a 5.38 percent increase since last week. There have been 88 deaths linked to the disease in the township, which has 36,497 residents, according to the most recent estimate from the U.S. Census.

Other recent case/death totals in Belleville include:
- Jan. 8 – 3,326 cases, 84 deaths
- Jan. 1 – 3,182 cases, 84 deaths
- Dec. 25 – 3,003 cases, 81 deaths
Nutley has seen 1,715 cumulative COVID-19 cases, a 6.72 percent increase since last week. There have been 49 deaths linked to the disease in the township, which has 28,434 residents.

- Jan. 1 – 1,506 cases, 43 deaths
