Belleville Gymnastics Whiz Captures Another Gold Medal
A 13-year-old Belleville athlete who goes to school in Nutley captured his sixth New Jersey state championship.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — A 13-year-old Belleville gymnastics whiz who goes to school in Nutley recently captured his sixth New Jersey state championship at a competition at Bloomfield High School.
During the tournament, which was held last month, Bobby Alessio of Belleville won his sixth N.J. State Championship in men’s gymnastics. Alessio competed in six events of the Level 9 Division (age 13-14) where he attained a 76.00 all-around score, earning him the gold medal.
Alessio trains at the Meadowlands Gymnastics Academy in Hasbrouck Heights, where he is coached by Roger Pinho and Misha Kustin. Alessio is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society at his school, Good Shepherd Academy in Nutley.
