BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville High School alum Fern Ronay is attempting to tell the story of a single, 29-year-old Manhattan lawyer guided in her dreams by her dead Italian grandparents with her new novel, “Better in the Morning.”
Ronay – a member of the BHS class of 1993 - told Patch that the book is a mix of “Sex and the City” and “Ghost.” However, Better in the Morning, which was released by Red Adept Publishing in April, is not just for the "chick lit" crowd, Ronay said.
For example, internationally known psychic medium John Edward read it and interviewed Ronay for his online show, Evolve. The episode is expected to air at the end of 2016, she said.

Ronay, an attorney, currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and is working on her next novel.
"Growing up in Belleville, I was constantly observing the way people spoke - their hand gestures and how they treated others - which I'm proud to say, overall, was with that rare combination of decency and honesty,” Ronay said. “Belleville folks will pick you up at 4 in the morning if your car breaks down and also tell you that your shirt is ugly. So, basically, they're the best."
