BELLEVILLE, NJ — Will your car be parked in the right place if snow arrives, Belleville?
As the North Jersey area buckles down for a potential snowstorm forecast to hit on Wednesday or Thursday, Belleville officials issued an alert reminding residents to mind where they park their vehicles... or face the consequences.
The snowstorm is expected to bring 6 to 12 inches of snow, as well as some sleet, rain or ice, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a ”winter weather warning” for the entire state, except for Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties. Those counties have been issued a "winter weather advisory."

The Belleville Police Department issued the following advisory on Wednesday afternoon:

"The township is requiring that all vehicles be moved from snow emergency streets at the start of the snowstorm, or the vehicles in violation will be subject to towing and, or ticketing. Please clear snow from nearby fire hydrants, and if you need to use a generator please use it safely. We are encouraging all residents to remain indoors, and avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. Please check on your elderly and disabled neighbors. Please check the township website for updates, and to see a detailed list of snow emergency streets."
