Belleville, Nutley School Board Election Results: Here's Who Won

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The 2020 election results have been certified for Belleville and Nutley's local school board races, the Essex County Clerk's Office confirmed Friday.

In Belleville, Frank Velez and Erika Jacho emerged victorious against four other candidates for spots on the board of education, according to the clerk's office.

In Nutley, Salvatore Ferraro, Lisa Danchak-Martin and Salvatore Balsamo ran unopposed for the board.

This year's general election took place mostly by mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic.

BELLEVILLE SCHOOL BOARD

A total of six people ran for two seats on the Belleville Board of Education. Each term lasts for three years. Candidates included Erika Jacho, Fernando Acevedo Jr., Lissa Missaggia, Frank Velez III, Yael Cavero-Isakowitz and Michael Sheldon.

Here are the certified results, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

• Fernando Acevedo Jr. -3,484
• Yael Cavero-Isakowitz - 846
• Erika Jacho - 3,895
• Lissa Missaggia - 3,214
• Michael Sheldon - 2,832
• Frank Velez III - 4,313

NUTLEY SCHOOL BOARD

Three seats on the Nutley Board of Education were available. Each term lasts three years. The candidates, Salvatore Ferraro, Lisa Danchak-Martin and Salvatore Balsamo, ran unopposed.

Here are the certified results, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

• Salvatore Balsamo - 8,815
• Lisa Danchak-Martin - 9,078
• Salvatore Ferraro - 9,145
