Belleville Obituary: George P. Zanfini

Belleville resident George P. Zanfini passed away on Aug. 19.

He was 72-years-old.

According to Megaro Memorial Home, Zanfini is survived by his brother Robert Zanfini and his wife Trudi.

The Belleville Times wrote a detailed memorial for Zanfini, who served for many years in the Belleville school system as a teacher and coach:

“Most importantly, he may have been the first in the Belleville school system to receive the highest accolade a kid could provide a teacher. George was known by just one letter. He was ‘Z.’ Or, to most of us kids, ‘Mr. Z.’
