Belleville resident Domenick A. D’Innocenzio, the owner of Dickie Dee’s Italian Style Hot Dogs in Newark, passed away on Aug. 20.
He was 88-years-old.

“Domenick A. D’Innocenzio, ‘Dickie Dee’, 88, of Belleville, passed away on Thursday, August 20.
“He was born on June 29, 1927, in Newark and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served our country during World War II. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend, Dick loved family gatherings, playing cards at his club, Toni’s cooking, and local sports teams. Never without his newspapers, his day didn’t start until the puzzles where solved.

“Dick owned and operated Dickie Dee’s Italian Style Hot Dogs, with his partner and dear friend Enrico G. Bruno. Founded in 1958, an established Newark tradition, Dickie Dee’s has served generations of loyal customers. He was proud to be voted #1 Hot Dog in New Jersey.
“He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Antoinette “Toni Dee” (nee Corrao), sons Richard “Ricky Dee” (Janet) of West Caldwell, Jack “Jacky Dee” (Tracy) of Ventnor, grandchildren Richard, Robert (Gretchen) and Ava, sister Antoinette Mongiovi and many loving nieces and nephews. Dick is predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary (need Delia) and sister Diane Ciccarelli.”
