Belleville Police: Missing Teen Found, 'Many Tips' Called In

Belleville police said a teen reported missing has been found "safe and sound."

BELLEVILLE, NJ — UPDATE: A 16-year-old juvenile was found "safe and sound" after she was reported missing on Dec. 7. Belleville police worked for two days around the clock on the case, and "many residents" called in tips which aided their investigation. The missing juvenile was not in any danger and left on her own will, authorities said. Our original article follows below.

Police in Belleville are asking for the public’s help finding a missing teen, authorities reported Saturday.

The Belleville Police Department issued the following alert on Dec. 7:

“Belleville police are attempting to locate a 16-year-old female, Britney Vishnay. Britney was last seen on Dec. 6 at 2:30 p.m. She was wearing black tights with ‘Puma’ written on one leg, red Nike sneakers and a Belleville football sweatshirt. She was carrying a red, Guess bookbag. If anyone knows her whereabouts, please contact the Belleville PD at 973-450-3333.”
