BELLEVILLE, NJ — Ten years ago on Sept. 6, 2008 Belleville Police Officer Kenneth Santucci was killed in the line of duty during a traffic crash. But a decade later, his peers at the Belleville Police Department haven’t forgotten the dedicated local cop.
On Thursday, the BPD posted a social media remembrance of Santucci, who was responding to a call with his partner when their vehicle collided with another in Nutley, just across the two towns’ border. The husband and father was 32-years-old.
“Please keep the Santucci family in your thoughts and prayers,” the BPD wrote. “May we never forget the ultimate sacrifice he paid protecting our community.”
