Christmas-Themed ‘Pop Up Bar’ Coming To Nutley, NJ

Take a pass on Black Friday this holiday season and duck into this Christmas-themed bar for a "Grinch Grog" or a "Run, Run, Rudolph."

NUTLEY, NJ — Suffering from stress this holiday season? Maybe a “Grinch Grog” can help ease the pain.

A Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar is planning to set up shop at Cowan’s Public in Nutley, New Jersey, just in time for Black Friday on Nov. 23.

Miracle on Centre – which began in New York City and has since expanded worldwide – will bring its kitschy-but-lovable holiday décor and pun-spiked drink recipes to Essex County for 2018, the only planned location in New Jersey this year. Channeling “the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to,” the pop-up bar includes drinks such as:

Here’s the origin of the Miracle Pop Up, according to its website:

“The concept was born in 2014 when upon the advice of his mother, owner Greg Boehm decided to halt construction of what was to be his new East Village cocktail bar called Mace and transformed the unfinished space into a pop-up bar serving holiday-themed drinks among over-the-top Christmas decorations. As crowds swarmed the NYC location, Boehm’s friends throughout the bar industry asked how they could recreate the holiday magic on their own turf and expansion became inevitable. The following year, Miracle expanded to 4 locations and in 2016, it went worldwide with pop-ups in Greece, Montreal and Paris. Currently, Boehm and manager Joann Spiegel are pleased to expand the concept to all corners of the U.S., plus pop-ups in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Central America.”
