NUTLEY, NJ — A luxury hotel may be among the next businesses coming to the former Hoffmann-La Roche site on the border of Nutley and Clifton on Route 3, a report says.
The former home of the pharmaceutical giant lay vacant after the company’s departure in 2013, until purchased by Bloomfield-based developer Prism Capital Partners. It’s since been revamped into a 116-acre office park known as “ON3.”
A pair of unnamed companies are now bidding to bring a 200-room, five-star hotel and conference center to the site as early as 2019, city officials told NorthJersey.com. The companies are expected to turn in plans for the proposed hotel as soon as January.

Tenants at the formerly vacant property now include the Ralph Lauren Corporation, which recently announced plans to relocate its headquarters to ON3 and bring more than 200 jobs with it. The property is also home to the recently opened Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University, as well as Modern Meadow, a biotech company that produces "animal-free leather" from living cells.
