NUTLEY, NJ — The popular “Santa’s Arrival” event has been canceled this year in Nutley due to the coronavirus, organizers said.

The Nutley Chamber of Commerce made an announcement about the event in its e-newsletter on Monday:

“Out of an abundance of caution, and in light of the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we have decided to cancel this year’s Santa’s Arrival, and plan to continue this Nutley Chamber of Commerce holiday season tradition next year.”

In addition, due to limited response, the holiday party scheduled for Dec. 1 at Mamma Vittoria has been canceled, the chamber stated. A virtual event is being considered instead.
