Man Reported Missing In Nutley, Found At Miami Airport: Police
An elderly man reported missing in Nutley was found the next day at an airport in Miami, authorities said.
NUTLEY, NJ — An elderly man reported missing in Nutley earlier this month was found the next day at an airport in Miami, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the man’s family said they were expecting him to arrive home from Miami on a connecting flight into Newark on Dec. 5.
But when the flight arrived, he wasn’t at the airport, although his luggage was found on the carousel, police said.

The man wasn’t traveling with a cellphone or wallet, only a passport for identification, authorities said.
Nutley police contacted the involved airlines, as well as authorities at Miami International Airport, who confirmed that the man wasn’t aboard the flight into Newark. At that time, the man was reported as an “endangered missing person” due to existing health issues.

The following day, Miami police notified their Nutley counterparts that the missing man was found in their airport, and was being held until a family member could arrive in Florida to escort him back home, authorities said.
